Setting Up A Stellar Home Recording Studio

Basically any space can be turned into a home video studio, with the proper equipment. Read on to learn how to convert a tiny space into a proper area to record your YouTube videos or any video content.

Getting Started

Starting your own business and studio is difficult, but it is even more difficult finding a place to host your new venture. Well, it happened to me a few years ago when I decided to start my company, so I know what you are going through. Now that working from home has become more common, now is the best time to pursue your dream.

Making Purchases

Once you find your studio space, it is time to furnish it. Ensure that the desk you chose is big enough for your computer screens and any other equipment, such as a keyboard, external HD and a Funko Pop Minion figurine. When you have everything hooked up, it is time for the best part; assembling your camera equipment. See the list below of suggested equipment.

  • Nikon DSLR D850 or D7500 with lens kit
  • Professional lighting kit
  • Rode VideoMic or Rode Go wireless mic
  • Tripod with fluid head
  • XLR cable
  • Boom pole
  • Rode VC1 mini-jack
  • Rode VXLR mini-jack adapter
  • Portable recorder
  • Sony XQD card reader
  • External LED 5600K video light

Do It

You can definitely start small and build your studio to where you want it to be. Starting anything new can be daunting, but with these small steps, you are setting yourself up for success.
